Congress pins hopes on SC dealing with defections
Welcoming the Supreme Court ruling restoring the Congress government in Arunachal Pradesh, Congress leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Wednesday warned Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao that he would also be facing strictures by the Apex court for the defection of 47 people's representatives from the opposition parties to the ruling TRS. He said in this regard that the court ruling was a direct slap on the face of the BJP. Sudhakar Reddy said the Telangana anti-defection cases would be figuring in the Supreme Court on July 18. Also, the Congress would be introducing a private member's bill in parliament for tightening the anti-defection law. He wished just deserts for the defectors. He said the Chair of both the Houses had not acted properly on the applications to deal with the defectors. He said he would soon come out with details about the defection by Puvvada Ajay of Khammam to the ruling TRS.
