Nelapadu farmer donors get first plots in Amaravati
The first part of allotment of land plots for the farmers who donated their lands for the Amaravati capital formation was completed at Nelapadu in Tullur on Saturday. Making it simpler, the necessary software for the farmers to locate their lands was also dveloped. At the press of a button, a farmer donor could know where the plot for him/her had been allotted in Amaravati. The farmers are saying the software is like the EVM. The plots were allotted by a draw of lots. A total of 847 farmers were allotted 1916 plots in Amaravati. The first plot was given to Kommineni Adilakshmi of Nelapadu Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu noted that the farmers had faith in him and had donated 33,000 acres of land. He was gladdened by the gesture of farmers, which he described as unforgettable. He reiterated that for their political ends, the former rulers at the Centre had divided combined AP unnaturally. Nobody had imagined that the capital would be located in Amaravati. He said the capital location was decided to keep it in the centre so that it would be equidistant to the people at both the ends.
