Congressmen protest against hike in power tariff
Protesting against the sudden hike in power tariff, Telangana Pradesh Congress leaders on Saturday staged a sit-in at Vidyut Sauda, the Electricity Board headquarters, disrupting traffic for some time at Khairatabad. Former Central Minister Sarvey Satyanarayana, former MLAs Sudheer Reddy, Srisailam Goud and Congressmen staged the sit-in. The police rushed to the spot and arrested the Congress leaders. The TPCC organised demonstrations in all the district headquearters. The Congressmen raised slogans stating that the hike in power tariff and RTC bus charges was against the interests of the common man. The YCP staged a demonstration at the RTC Cross-roads where the TSRTC headquarters is located.
