Central Govt pensioners to march to parliament

All India Retired Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRRF) president Y.N. Sastry has called upon all the Central Government Pensioners and family pensioners numbering over 45 lakh to rally behind the National Council of Joint Action comprising all recognized trade unions of Central Government employees, including Railways, Defence and so on, for securing implementation of 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations. He wanted the AIRRF’s affiliates, which command 5.5 lakh members, to participate in the proposed march to Parliament by NCJA on June 24. Sastry also stated that very grave injustice was done by the 7th CPC by denying most of the important demands like enhancement of increase of minimum pension/family pension, fixed medical allowance, restoration of commuted pension after 12 years and so on. Now the government was trying to avoid implementation of one-post one-pension recommended by 7th CPC on the lines of Defence pensioners.
