As per the order, TSIIC will act as nodal agency and can send a detailed project report to the state government on modalities for implementation and execution of the project.
It may be said here that the Centre has already accorded in principle approval for setting up of National Investment Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) for the proposed Pharma City which in turn implies strategic and infrastructure support from the Centre.
The State Government has constituted a special task force committee to advise and monitor speedy implementation of the project by involving all stakeholders. Being bulk capital in the country, Telangana occupies almost third largest producer of bulk ***** and formulations at national level and wants to complete the project on a war footing. The TSIIC can also engage a full time consultant or agency for continuing the works at state and Central level and to pursue the project till it becomes operational. Since the Centre has already given its nod for the Pharma City in the state, the government is going ahead with its plan to come up with a state of the art pharma park to accommodate all the pharma companies, manufacturing companies, biotech and life sciences companies along with related activities.
The proposed park will have components and other related activities at Pharma city including antibiotics, fermentation products, synthetic *****, large volume chemical synthesis, intermediaries, vitamins, vaccines, drug formulations, nutraceuticals, herbal medicinal products, specialty chemicals, cosmetics among others.
In the order the government said that efforts will be made to establish research and development incubation center, central testing facilities for clinical trials, testing and certification, contract research and custom synthesis.
