Chandrababu appeals to people to make AP No 1 `Mahasankalpam'
AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday called for massive water conservation initiatives like construction of water-harvesting structures and farm ponds at every doorstep in the State. In a teleconference held on the third day of “Nava Nirmana Deeksha”, the Chief Minister exuded confidence that the people were satisfied and happy with government’s ongoing welfare and development programs in the State. He said cash awards would be given to those panchayats and local-self bodies that topped in the initiatives like encouraging open defecation-free environment, construction of 100 water-harvesting structures, establishing vermin compost pits and tree plantation. In the week-long Nava Nirmana Deeksha activities, discussions and debates will be held on the various welfare schemes being implemented by the government. “Only through discussions we can assess how well the welfare schemes are being implemented”, the Chief Minister said. These should culminate in a roadmap for the future and for the development of the State. “An assessment should be made regularly on what we have achieved in the last two years and what needs to be done further”, the Chief Minister said. Chandrababu appealed to every member in the State to participate in the “Maha Sankalpam” on June 8. “In the coming three years, we need to coordinate our efforts and work with dedication and commitment to make Andhra Pradesh the world’s best State”, he added.
