Shabbir Ali sees mid-term poll coming in TS
Former Congress Minister Shabbir Ali, the leader of the opposition in the Legislative Council, on Friday felt that the TRS government was going in for a mid-term poll next year. What else could one read into Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's assurances that all his promises would be fulfilled by 2022, he asked. He said the promises should be fulfilled by 2019, when the elections to the State Assembly were due. To say 2022 for every promise pointed to a mid-term poll, he said. Shabbir Ali said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was also making moves to get the assembly dissolved. Also, he said the defectors from the TDP, Congress and the YCP would be losing their seats under the Anti-Defection Act. Instead of going for by-elctions in so many constituencies, it would be better for the government to go in for a mid-term poll when the people's mandate is still fresh with the government.
