BJP juggles with figures to deny SCS to Andhra Pradesh

The BJP is reluctant to give the mandated Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh, come what may. The ruling party at the Centre is showing all kinds of arithmetic to prove its point. The latest BJP leader to join the jugglery band is Som Veeraraju who claims the constitutional SCS would yield only Rs 7000 crore for AP, while under Special Package the State would get as much as Rs 42,000 crore. Therefore, a Special Package is more preferable to the State than the constitutional Special Category Status. Som Veeraraju further claimed that AP did not need the SCS at all. In that connection, he is doing all kinds of jugglery with figures.
