Conserve water, protest forests : Narendra Modi

"The suggestions of the people are being helpful for our good governance a lot," said Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He addressed the people of the country through his 'Mann Ki Baat'. on Sunday. Modi clarified that protecting forests and conserving water must be the duty of every Indian. He stressed on the need to conserve every drop of water in the coming monsoon season. He said that there is a drought in several states along with Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. "We are trying to find out the measures to prevent drought permanently in India," said the prime minister. During his 30 minute address, he praised the programs like Misson Bhagiratha in Telangana and Neeru-Pragathi in Andhra Pradesh. He stressed on the need to practice drip irrigation. He said that all families in the country have bank accounts and clarified that all money transactions will be done through cashless payment only in future. The prime minister said that Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat are making good progress using technology. He said that he is feeling it bad with India's performance in Olympics. "Any player should not loss confidence with one defeat. They have to learn lessons from it," said Modi.
