R Krishnaiah threatens nationwide stir on BC quota
Hyderabad, May 14: National Backward Classes Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah has warned the Centre and State Governments of nationwide agitation if their legitimate demands were not met. During his meetings with Thawar Chand Gehlot, Central Social Justice Minister along with Bandaru Dattatreya, Krishnaiah demanded that the BCs must get 50% reservation according to their population in all sectors, including Assembly and Parliament elections, immediate introduction of BC Bill in Parliament. He sought reservations in promotions to BC employees and the reservations for all Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribes, Backward Classes in the judiciary and private sector firms. He also asserted the removal of creamy layer to OBC’s, constitutional status to the National BC Commission and a separate ministry must need to serve the needs of the BC’s in the country. He also sought Constitutional sanction to BC reservations in Panchayat Raj and other local body elections. Speaking to the media, Krishnaiah said, “We are meeting each and every political party to get the support to achieve our due representation at all sectors”, he added.
