Karunanidhi files nomination from Tiruvur
Kalainar M. Karunanidhi waited for the auspicious time on August 25 to enter the assembly election fray from the Tiruvur constituency in Tamil Nadu. Nonagenarian Karunanidhi wants to set up a record for the number of elections and also for the number of times he has become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Married thrice, Karunanidhi has children from each of his wives who could become Chief Minister in case the DMK is voted to power. While having tiffs among themselves, none of his children has so far angled for the chief Minister's post. Chief Minister Amma Jayalalithaa also filed her nomination from RK Nagar in Chennai today because of the auspicious time. It remains to be seen whether the people of Tamil Nadu would stick to the rule of alternating between the DMK and AIADMK parties or vote again the Amma party.
