Kurasala Kannababu made East Godavari YCP leader
Despite losing MLAs intermittently, the opposition YCP is immediately replacing the leaders who have defected to the ruling TDP with fresh blood. Since the MLA is not easily replaceable, the YCP is banking on former people's representatives to take up the leadership. The YCP has lost its deputy leader, Jyothula Nehru, to the ruling TDP in the key district of East Godavari that has 19 assembly constituencies. But the party has not made any great effort to retain Jyothula despite the long duration between his announcement and actually joining the TDP. However, immediately after Jyothula left the party, YCP leader Jaganmohan Reddy began parleys for his replacement in East Godavari party unit leadership. He had one-to-one meetings with the various district leaders. Jagan consulted various district party leaders at party headquarters at Lotus Pond on Wednesday morning. Following the parleys it was decided to hand over the YCP leadership in East Godavari to Kurasala Kannababu, former MLA.
