`Balika Vadhu' Pratyusha was trapped & tortured: Testimonies

`Balika Vadhu' Star Pratyusha Banerjee was trapped by her boyfriend, Rahul Raj singh, and tortured, according to the testimonies of her parents. Rahul got her hooked to him just as she achieved stardom. However, Rahul Raj concealed from her the fact that he was already married and had 9-year-old son by the marriage. He had bluffed to her that he was rich. He had four land plots in Mumbai, and in his native village he had land of 150 acres. Not only that, his mother was an MLA. Just as she fell to the trap, Rahul Raj prohibited Pratyusha from meeting her friends. Then he made her send her family away, saying she should live exclusively with him. Her parents left the place in the belief that she was setting up her family. When he thought she was helpless, Rahul Raj started beating her up, reminding her of her previous contacts. Whenever there was a beating session in her flat, the neighbours would hear screams and shouts. This was stated by her neighbours at Kandivli in North-West Mumbai. Meanwhile, Rahul Raj's debts started mounting. There came a stage when Pratyusha found it difficult even to pay the rent for her flat. As the physical torture also increased, she confessed about her condition to her uncle and aunt. They immediately informed the police. It's based on these evidences that the police had arrested Rahul Raj as soon as he was discharged by hospital. The police are expected to get a few more testimonies.
