Wages of MLAs, MLCs up in AP

The wages of MLAs and MLCs are going to be doubled in Andhra Pradesh. The AP Amenities committee met in the meeting hall of the Assembly on Saturday morning and decided to more than double the wages for the MLAs and MLCs. At present the people's representativies are getting a salary of Rs.90,000. This was going to be raised to Rs.2 lakhs each. Of the amount, Rs 1.5 lakh will be salary and Rs 50,000 will be in the form of allowances. The committee also recommended the increase in car allowances for the the MLAs and MLCs from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 40 lakh. Their Telangana counterparts are better placed in the matter. They are expected to get Rs 3.5 lakh as compensation per month. Now that they are getting wages, what will be their status in terms of the executive. There are bureaucrats who have jobs. People's representatives have jobs for 5 years. Are they both same for a period of 5 years. If so what about privileges?
