Vijay Mallya seeks time till April to return

Kingfisher airline owner Vijay Mallya has appealed to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to give him time till April to appear before it. The ED had told him to appear before it by March 18. The ED summons are in connection with a money laundering case registered last year. Vijay Mallya reportedly wote a letter to the ED asking for a postponement of case because he was abroad. Earlier, an email was issued in the name of Vijay Mallya, which he later denied. The email had claimed that he was no absconder and that he was returning. The ED perhaps knows his signature and gives credence to the letter. Vijay Mallya, the king of good times, lived off well by borrowing heavily from banks to the tune of Rs 9000 crores. Now he was safely settled in his 5-acre London country home Ladywalk, after putting millions of Indian small borrowers on a tightrope-walk.
