AP CM blocking HC split, says TRS MP
The leaders of Telangana are demanding a separate High Court for their State on the ground that the Andhra Pradesh High Court is dominated by the Andhras. Against this background, Telangana Rastra Samiti MP Vinodkumar has given a new twist to the demand, saying Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu does not want the High Court to be split on the ground that in case of bifurcation the YCP leader of the opposition in AP, YS jaganmohan Reddy, would get away. In case of split, the cases filed against Jagan would need to be restarted. That would take a long time for the judgement to come. Vinodkumar further tweaked that in order to expedite the cases, Chandrababu was putting pressure on the Narendra Modi government not to concede the bifurcation of the High Court demand. Vinodkumar claimed that if there was no court bifurcation, Telangana would be deprived of justice. A similar charge was made in connection with the Stepehnson case, when the Judge warned the nominated MLA asking for recusing of the judge that he would have to face contempt of court.
