RSS workers to doff khaki nickers & don trousers

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is going in for a sartorial change soon. Known by the epithet `Khaki nickers', the RSS is apparently looking for a change for the better. In the place of the khaki nickers, the three-day RSS meet in Rajasthan proposes to opt for either ash or blue coloured trousers. The ashen or blue-coloured trousers, white shirt with red topi and lathi will thus be the new outfit of an RSS worker. A sartorial change has been a demand for long in the RSS. But only now the RSS leadership has recognised the need for a change. Perhaps, they have been driven by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was an RSS Pracharak, going in for bespoke clothes. That has led to the change in their mindset. The RSS leadership says the matter would be discussed at the meeting and a decision taken after that. It is well known that the RSS with a 90-year history since the freedom movement is the largest service organisation in the world.
