Kudos HCU, thanks to Rohith Vemula
Even as the people were wondering about the quality of education that is being taught in Central universities, here comes the good news that Hyderabad Central University stands 13th among the best Indian universities. This was noted by the US News and World Report in its 2016 edition of the best global universities. When the students agitated over Yakub Memon documentary, there were fears over the students' priorities. Research scholar Rohit Vemula had proved that the fundamentals were strong. Did he commit suicide because of the wrong turn of intellectualism and instigation by unknown elements? He stands out as a star by giving a silver lining to his university. Compared to the HCU, Jawaharlal Nehru Central University in New Delhi has outstanding faculty. But the JNU students pursued the case of convicted traitor Afzal Guru and betrayed obscurantism. The JNU does not figure anywhere in the US News and World Report.
