APPSC ready to hold Group posts exams
Andhra Pradesh, which has been lagging behind in the matter of government jobs, is getting ready to hold employment melas, provided the government gives the green signal for filling up various posts in the government. Announcing this during his tour of Anantpur district, the AP Public Service Copmmission Chairman Uday Bhaskar told newsmen on Tuesday night that there were 100 Group 1 and 1000 Group 2 posts lying vacant in the State. The exercise for filling up various posts had begun. The notification for the posts could be given after the government gave the green signal. `We are ready even if the notification is given in a week's time,' he added. The syllabi for the qualifying examinations have already been reviewed. Apart from the Group posts, the commission was ready for the recruitment for all posts in the APPSC, he said. While the Telangana government had started the process of job recruitment, AP was lagging behind owing to the hesitation by the government. The government, however, took the key step of appointing the APPSC Chairman, indicating it would go in for recruitment. Fresh recruitment might offset the delays in the capital shift, housing of the employees and other problems following the split of the combined AP.
