Polavaram Machine Yatra begins

Polavaram Machine Yatra has begun. Huge machines are being deployed for taking up the Polavaram project which is the Central government gift to Andhra Pradesh for the breakaway of Telangana. To greet the huge machines that landed in Chennai harbour and being brought to AP, State irrigation Minister Devineni Uma was at Nellore on Sunday to welcome the much-needed machines. Senior TDP leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy and Vakati Narayana were with him for a look at the machines being imported from the US and Japan. Andhra Pradesh has already shown its earnestness about improving the irrigation water and drinking water situation in coastal districts. Pattiseema project was taken up and delivered in West Godavari in the targeted time. Polavaram is being taken up to achieve sort of self-sufficiency in the entire Andhra pradesh when the neighbouring States were out to grab as much water as possible to the detriment of the downstream State of AP. The world over the principle applied is top priority to the downstream State, as was available in the Bachawat award. Subsequently, the States have conspired to controvert the principle. Hence Polavaram is going to be the lifeline for the State.
