Chandrababu feels he's losing grip on staff, as graft grows in AP

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who was the TDP supremo of all he surveyed in the combined AP, suddenly feels he is losing the grip on the administration. It cannot be otherwise because the administration is in Hyderabad, he is in Vijayawada, and there's no capital worth the name. Meanwhile, all the neighbours have ganged up to deny AP its legitimate due of Special Status following the loss of revenue and split of the combined State. The AP Cabinet for the first time had heart-to-heart talk on Monday morning. One of the Ministers told the TDP supremo about the talk of the town that corruption was growing in the State and that Chandrababu was not able to arrest it. This enraged Chandrababu and he said in his usual haughty style that he would show what he was come June. In June, the staff now in Hyderabad was expected to arrive in the capital region to resume duties from the region itself. But there's too much gap between the cup and the lip. The staff may not come, may take the excuse of shift and leave, cite high rents greeting them in the capital region or get going with the prevailing atmoshphere of boosting corruption. On his part, the Chief Minister is taking all steps required for tightening the adminsitration. After the District Collectors' conference ends on Tuesday, he is expected to call for the party politburo meeting. The party supremo told general secretary Nara Lokesh to select a building on Bandar road in Vijayawda to set up the party office on the model of NTR Trust Bhavan in Hyderabad.
