TDP has gained 150,000 City votes, claims Lokesh
Telugu Desam Party general secretary Nara Lokesh on Wednesday tried to explain away his party's one-division win in the GHMC plls by saying the party had received 1.5 lakhs more votes than it did in the previous civic poll. The votes polled by the TDP totalled 7.5 lakh, just about one-fifth of the total 33.6 lakh votes polled in the election. He argued that his party had strengthened in Hyderabad. The TDP leader charged the successful TRS with making unreasonable promises amounting to Rs.40,000 crore on paper. He said the people would keenly await the realization of the TRS promises, meaning it was too tall an order. Lokesh said the TDP strength was in its staying power as in the Test Cricket unlike T20 version which some call satta cricket.
