Dial 1100 for problems in TN

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Tuesday launched another Amma welfare programme for the people by which they could express their grievances to the authorities by dialing 1100 toll free number. The call will be received at a call centre, which is expected to direct the callers to the authorities concerned. These call centres will work 24x7 round the year. Chennai was a despondent metropolitan city for one long month during the recent floods there. A similar programme as in Tamil Nadu is expected on an all-India basis. Tamil Nadu may have taken the lead in this regard. In Karnataka, one such scheme is already in operation, and the onus of solving the grievances has been put there on the officials concerned. Since any pending grievance would go against them, Karnataka officials lose no time in solving people's grievances.
