Intelligence sees threat to AP CM
Intelligence fears a threat to the life of AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The Intelligence wing has suggested upgrading the level of security for the Chief Minister.
The intelligence wing has also suggested a series of measures for the Chief Minister. First, the chopper and planes to be used by the Chief Minister should be thoroughly checked against sabotage before Chandrababu undertakes a trip.
As the Chief Minister is staying in a guest house by the side of the Krishna river, there should be 24-hour alert around the premises. The police should stay put in boats for his security. There should be expert swimmers and Central Reserve Police Force men on the boats.
The security staff of the Chief Minister should be on alert round the clock.
The recommendations have been made in a letter to the State government.
Chandrababu Naidu had survived a serious threat to his life in his previous term as Chief Minister of the combined Andhra Pradesh, when Naxalites had stashed explosives on Alipiri road in Tirupati. The bombs went off as he passed by, but the Chief Minister survived without a scratch. The sturdy car in which he was traveling at that time had saved him.
