Birds of different feathers flock together in Nellore

The Flamingo festival in Nellore on Wednesday brought together birds of different political feathers. The YCP leader, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, who was from the start opposed to the TDP, appeared together with Minister Narayana, shaking hands with him, triggering many video recordings. The highlight of the festival was Minister Narayana appearing in full track suit and jogging along the city roads with the local youth in the 2K run. The Flamingo festival celebrates the arrival of many hued birds in the Nelapattu bird sanctuary at Doravari Satram Mandal in Nellore district. The sanctuary is spread over 459 hectares. Hundreds of pelicans and other birds arrive at the sanctuary, considered one of the biggest habitats for the migratory birds. The people in the vicinity treat the birds with affection and give protection to them. The Flamingo festival run is, however, confined to Nellore city.
