Stage set for R-Com-Aircel merger
India is going to witness the biggest merger in the telecom sector with the proposed acquisition of Aircel by Reliance Industries. Reliance has revealed its plans saying Aircel is going to be merged into its R-Com. Discussions between the two companies are in an advanced stage. Post-merger this would be the biggest of its kind in the country. The merger will help R-Com to spread countrywide. Besides, it will help Reliance Jio 4G plans, making it the biggest telecom company in the country. At present, Reliance is in the fourth spot. It seeks to be the No.1 company.
