House Ethics panel to review Roja's remarks

Former actress and YCP leader R.K. Roja's troubles are only increasing by the day. Following Dalit MLA Anita's recounting of the humiliation meted out to her by Roja in the State Assembly, the TDP government has taken the matter very seriously. As she did so, Anita was in tears. The matter is to be referred to the Ethics Committee of the House. The Assembly records concerning the incident were reviewed and humiliation of the Dalit MLA also was noticed. This evoked demands by ruling party's women members to increase the punishment of 1 year's suspension from the House for Roja. The women members made a representation in this regard to Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad. The 1-year suspension related only to Roja's remarks on Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The records showed Roja flinging remarks at others also. In this context, Roja's intemperate remarks are going to be referred to the Ethics Committee of the House. Roja might thus attract a more severe punishment.
