Spurious liquor deaths: AP bans 9 brands

Hyderabad, Dec 8: The government of Andhra Pradesh today temporarily banned nine liquor brands, which were suspected to have caused the death of five persons at Swarna Bar in Vijayawada. The nine brands, which were banned, include Original Choice (batch number 120), Royal Stag 26, Officer's Choice, DSP, AAB, McDowel's whisky and brandy and Bagpiper. Police and Excise department officials were thorough checking various liquor outlets across the state to find if more cases of spurious liquor were being sold.
