With eye on GHMC polls, KCR waives Rs 423 cr power, water bill dues

Hyderabad, Dec 4: With eye on GHMC polls, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is believed to have taken a decision to waive of Rs 423 cr worth pending power and water bills of poor people living under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits. KCR's decision is expected to benefit at least six lakh power consumers and three lakh water users. The chief minister is said to have taken the decision after Ministers Nayani Narasinha Reddy, Padma Rao and Talasani Srinivas Yadav brought his notice that poor people are not in a position to clear power and water bills.
