MLA Sayanna, MLC Prabhakar defect to TRS, blow to TTDP and Congress

Hyderabad, Dec 3: In a yet another blow to Telugu Desam Party and Congress party in Telangana, Secunderabad Cantonment MLA G. Sayanna and Congress MLC S Prabhakar today officially defected to Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS). Four TDP MLAs from Hyderabad had already defected to TRS and one of them is also a minister. Those who defected in the past include Talasani Srinivas Yadav (Sanath Nagar), Teegala Krishna Reddy (Maheshwaram), Manchireddy Kishan Reddy (Ibrahimpatnam) and Madhavaram Krishna Rao (Kukatpally). TRS is in a bid to strengthen itself in Hyderabad in view of the MLC election around the corner. Irrigation Minister Harish Rao is velieved to have engineered the defection as part of 'Operation Akarshan'.
