We will release Rs 100 cr to TS for drought: Union Agri Minister Radha Mohan
Hyderabad, Dec 2: Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh today announced that the central government was going to release Rs 100 crore to Telangana to meet the needs of the drought-hit mandals in the state. Speaking to media in New Delhi today, Radha Mohan said a central team will be sent to Telangana to assess the impact of drought in the state and submit a report on the ground-level situation. Based on the report, the central government will release further funds to the state, the Union minister assured. Earlier, Telangana deputy chief minister Kadiam Srihari, Mohammad Ali and state Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy met Radha Mohan and urged him to help the state to tackle drought situation in the state. They had requested him to sanction Rs 2,514 crore toward drought relief and also submitted a letter in this connection.
