TS relaxes age cap for jobs in police department

Hyderabad, Nov 9: The government of Telangana relaxed the upper age cap for aspirants of police jobs by three years in the recruitment exams. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is said to have given his approval to this effect. It may be recalled that KCR had on Saturday had given his approval for the filling of over 9,000 vacancies in the police and fire departments by conducting recruitment examinations. The norms for age-relaxation are to come into force with the proposed exams. Telangana is taking up this biggest police recruitment drive after 12 years. The following are the details of the upper age limit norms: * Police constable posts (general category candidates) raised from 22 years to 25 years. * Reserved category candidates (SCs, STs, BCs) from 27 years to 30 years. * Sub-Inspectors (general category candidates) increased from 25 years to 28 years. * Sub-Inspectors (reserved category candidates) from 30 years to 33 years.
