Employees see conspiracy behind move to shift administration

Hyderabad, Nov 08: AP government employees working in Hyderabad are alleging that real estate firms are pressurising the government to shift 20,000 employees in one go to boost land prices in Vijayawada, Guntur and other areas in the capital region. The employees now see a larger conspiracy behind the hurried decision to shift offices, administration and employees to Vijayawada and other areas in the capital region. Employees said that Vijayawada city will get additional one lakh population if 20,000 employees along with their families move to the capital region. They said that sudden influx of employees will push rentals and land prices in the city and would only benefit real estate firms which own vast tracts of lands around Vijayawada and other cities in the capital region. Opposition parties alleged that the move was aimed to spur demand for lands and houses in capital region. It may be noted that government asked employees to make arrangements to move to the capital region before the commencement of next academic year.
