AP people patronising TS RTC buses

Kurnool, Nov 03: In Kurnool bus stand, a Hyderabad-bound bus from Jadcherla depot of TSRTC came on to the platform, RTC staff of Kurnool depot obstructed that bus stating the three Hyderabad-bound buses from Kurnool depot are on the platform. The TSRTC bus conductor argued that his schedule would be disrupted and convinced them. The same situation prevails in Vijayawada, Guntur and other RTC bus stands in the state. The situation has arisen as AP people are patronising Telangana RTC buses. The main reason for this is the difference in fare. After the bifurcation of RTC recently, APSRTC hiked the fare but TSRTC has not revised the fare. Due to this, the fares between AP and TS buses travelling in the same route were different. As fare in TSRTC buses is lesser when compared to APSRTC buses, passengers are preferring TS buses. Even in advanced ticket reservation, AP people are preferring TSRTC buses and its occupancy rate has increased in recent times. APSRTC officials are bringing pressure on TSRTC management either to hike the charges or to enter into an inter-state agreement.
