Centre to give Rs 6,000cr for Amaravati power infrastructure

Hyderabad, Oct 28: The NDA government is believed to have agreed to give a Rs 6,000 crore loan through the Rural Electrification Corporation of India for the power infrastructure project within the Amaravati capital city, sources said. As per the project, power will be supplied to government and private building within Amaravati through underground cables as well as over-head electricity lines. Meanwhile, APTransco is said to have estimated that Amaravati is likely to need at least 1,500 MW power by 2018 end.
