Chris Cairns asked me to fix IPL matches: McCullum

London, Oct 16: New Zealand cricket team captain Brendon McCullum has told a London court that the team's former skipper Chris Cairns approached him to fix matches in Indian Premier League (IPL). McCullum told the court that Cairns met him at a hotel in Kolkata in April 2008 and asked to agree to a deal for fixing IPL matches. McCullum and Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting played for Kolkata Knight Riders team in the IPL at that time. Chris Cairns reportedly told McCullum that each incidence of match-fixing would fetch money between $70,000 and $ 2,50,000. McCullum claimed that he lodged a complaint on Cairns with cricket authorities in 2011.
