89 red sanders cutters nabbed in Chittoor dist
Chittoor, Oct 11: Police arrested 89 red sanders cutters at Nendragunta in Chandragiri mandal of Chittoor district yesterday night. On a tip-off police carried vehicle searches and detained the accused who were travelling in buses. They hail from Salem and Dharmapuri districts in Tamil Nadu. The arrested were shifted to Bakarapet police station. Though government raised a special Taskforce to prevent illegal felling of red sanders, there was no let up in red sanders smuggling.
