Employee's love affair costs GVK of international reputation
Hyderabad, Oct 09: A love affair between two employees has adversely affected the prospects of Hyderabad-based GVK Biosciences. The love affair resulted in the international scrutiny of GVK Biosciences and a ban on 700 generic medicines tested by the company. An employee of the company fell in love with his junior colleague and they both left the organisation in 2011. The girl's parent approached the police and the company dismissed the employees. Police inquiry revealed that the employee had sent e-mails to all major drug regulatory agencies doubting the quality of clinical research being conducted in GVK Biosciences. Though married and blessed with two children, the employee had an illegitimate affair with his junior colleague. Some international medical agencies wanted to inspect the company and accused the latter of manipulating data. European Union even banned 700 medicines tested in the company. The accused reportedly sent 15 e-mails to United States Federal Drug Administration Agency (USFDA) expressing doubts on quality of drug tests in the facility.
