Telangana is rich state, but farmers are poor: Errabelli

Hyderabad, Sep 29: Telangana is a rich state, but farmers are poor, said TDP floor leader in Telangana Assembly Errabelli Dayakar Rao. He was speaking in a debate on farmers' suicide in Assembly today. He said that 1,400 farmers committed suicide in the state. He demanded the government to provide financial assistance to the kin of deceased farmers. He urged the government to implement farm loan waiver scheme at one go. Errabelli flayed TRS leaders for blaming previous governments on farmers suicides. He alleged that government was not sending reports on drought situation to Centre. He flayed the government for not declaring drought though 50 per cent geographical area in the state received deficient monsoon. He suggested the government to take measures to boost the morale of farmers and to make agriculture profitable. He attributed sudden spurt in farmers' suicides to apathy of government.
