6.3 lakh votes deleted from GHMC electoral rolls
Hyderabad, Sep 23: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has deleted the names of 6.3 lakh voters from electoral rolls.
The votes were deleted citing reasons like non-eligible, door-lock, house shifting and duplicate voters. Opposition parties have alleged that large scale name deletions were done in the places were Seemandhra people live.
In Kukatpally circle alone, 1.21 lakh names were deleted from voters list. It is said that GHMC staff deleted votes without any inquiry or verification particularly in the strongholds of TDP, BJP and Congress.
