Widespread, heavy rains forecast for AP, TS today

Hyderabad, Sept 7: Widespread and heavy rains are forecast for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states till today night, according to weather bulletins released by Cyclone Warning Center in Visakhapatnam and the Indian Meteorological Department at Hyderabad. As per the bulletins, heavy rains are expected to fall at some places in the two states. The bulletins also forecast rains accompanied with lightening and thunderbolts at several locations. The bulletins said the rains are due to low pressure formation along the East coast from Odisha to Tamil Nadu and as a result the monsoon has picked up vigor. On Sunday, the weather bureau recorded a rainfall of 5cm in Nellore, 4cm in Machilipatnam and 1cm in Visakhapatnam.
