Rodent attack: Ministers inspect Guntur govt hospital
Hyderabad, August 27: Andhra Pradesh ministers Kamineni Srinivas and Peetala Sujatha along with member of parliament Galla Jaydev inspected the Government Hospital at Guntur this morning. It may be recalled that on Wednesday rodents had bitten a newborn baby inside the neonatal surgical ward of the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Guntur. The baby had died a few hours later on Wednesday. The state government is viewing this incident very seriously. Earlier, the hospital’s superintendent T. Venugopala Rao had ordered a probe by senior doctors into the incident. He said action will be taken against those responsible for the lapse. Meanwhile, the state government had announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the family of the baby.
