Miscreant pelts stone at Pawan
Penumaka (Guntur), Aug 23: Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan was accorded a grand welcome by farmers and his fans upon his arrival at Penumaka village in Guntur district. Tension prevailed for a while, as an unidentified person pelted a stone on Pawan. Pawan kept the stone with himself and interacted with farmers.
The farmers met Pawan at the village and poured out their woes. Pawan gave a patient hearing to the farmers and heard their grievances.
A farmer said that he earns Rs 5,000 per day on jasmine flowers in his 40 cent land. He said that CRDA would provide a compensation of Rs 30,000 for the land and questioned how his family would survive on the paltry sum.
Farmers alleged that police detained people and stopped them from reaching the venue. They said that land pooling has no legal sanctity. Some of them even warned that they would commit suicide if the government forcibly acquires land.
