Rich tributes paid to Tanguturi

Vijayawada, Aug 23: Glowing tributes were paid to noted freedom fighter and the first Chief Minister of then Andhra Pradesh Tanguturi Prakasam on the occasion of his 143th birth anniversary. It may be noted that State government decided to celebrate Prakasam's birth anniversary as a State festival. In Vijayawada, Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and other senior officers garlanded the statue of Prakasam at Prakasam Barrage in the city and paid rich tributes. The Minister exhorted the youth emulate Prakasam Pantulu. In Nellore, TDP senior leader and MLC S Chandramohan Reddy and others participated in the official function. The MLC, Collector Janaki and others garlanded Prakasam's statue at Madras Bus Stand in the city and paid tributes. The event was celebrated across the state.
