Internet to every house by Apr 16
Hyderabad, Aug 20: The Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (INCAP) is planning to provide internet connection to 1.7 crore houses in the state by April 16. INCAP invited tenders for the Rs 333 crore AP Aerial Fibre Network for providing Geographical Information System (GIS) Internet to all the households. According to reports, 3.5 lakh electric poles and 2,840 sub-stations will be used for the project. The tenders were opened on July 18 and works were awarded to the lowest bidder. Network testing works would start on December 15 and the services will be accessible to people in all the villages across the state by April 16. According to reports, free internet connection would be provided to government schools and Rs 150 per month would be charged from each household.
