Financial aid to AP: Arun Jaitley

Delhi, Aug 11: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has observed that bifurcation pushed AP into financial crisis. The TDP MPs called on the Minister at Parliament today and requested him to accord special status to the state immediately. Arun Jaitley positively responded to the plea of the MPs and assured all necessary help. Jaitley flayed UPA government for not making any provisions for special status in the AP Reorganisation Act. He reminded that Centre had already extended tax concessions and assured financial aid to the state. He observed that AP's revenue dwindled as Hyderabad went under the control of Telagnana. Meanwhile, the MPs also met Home Minister Rajnath Singh. They reportedly discussed special status and Section 9 and 10 of AP Reorganisation Act.
