Nirbhaya case on Pratyusha’s parents

Hyderabad, July 17: The LB Nagar police has registered cases under Nirbhaya Act on parents of Pratyusha. The victim’s father C Ramesh was at large after police rescued the girl. The police found that Ramesh was staying at his relatives home in Bowenepally and arrested him. The police had tough time to control the locals who tried to attack Ramesh. It may be noted that police and NGO rescued the 19-year-old girl from a house at Bandlaguda in Nagole on the basis of information that she was being confined and tortured. The victim’s step mother was arrested a few days ago. Ramesh informed the police that his mental condition was unstable. The victim’s mother Sarala Devi used to run a beauty parlour. Sarala had divorced her husband after coming to know that Chamundeswari (Shyamala), who was working as an assistant in the parlour, was having extramarital relationship with her husband. Sarala Devi later committed suicide. Earlier, as per an agreement with his wife, Ramesh had registered a flat in the name of Pratyusha. Later, Shyamala married Ramesh. The couple harassed the girl in order to grab the plot registered in her name. Meanwhile, the girl’s maternal uncle used to collect rent of the flat, but he never took care of the girl. The police will also interrogate him and other relatives. The High Court yesterday directed the officials not to discharge the girl from the Global Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment, without its consent.
