Chandrababu Naidu steals the show at Modi’s birthday event in Varanasi, unveils ‘VKS’ mantra
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu delivered a powerful and widely appreciated speech at the ‘Kashi-Vadnagar Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ programme held in Varanasi on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The event, organised at the Rudraksh Convention Centre, saw Naidu’s address emerge as a major highlight.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh specially praised Naidu even before his speech and later applauded him with a loud “Very well… very well” after he concluded, drawing the attention of the entire gathering.

Naidu began his address on a spiritual note with the chant “Hara Hara Mahadev.” He introduced a new slogan — the ‘VKS’ mantra — to describe Modi’s journey. “V stands for Vadnagar, Modi’s birthplace; K for Kashi, his karmabhoomi; and S for September 17, the day he was born. This ‘VKS’ mantra is the most powerful one in democracy. Modi has shown that with a positive outlook and hard work, anyone can scale the greatest heights,” Naidu said. He described Modi’s rise from a humble family, selling tea at a railway station and studying under difficult circumstances to become the Prime Minister, as an inspiration for the youth.

Highlighting the achievements of the past decade under Modi’s leadership, Naidu said 25 crore people had been lifted out of multi-dimensional poverty. He listed key welfare measures: free foodgrains for 80 crore people, toilets for 12 crore families, houses for 4 crore people, and the dream of providing tap water to every household. Under the PM-Kisan scheme, he noted, direct cash transfers had been made to 11 crore farmers without middlemen. Naidu also praised the government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, saying it not only protected 140 crore Indians but also supplied free vaccines to 100 countries, showcasing India’s humanitarian spirit.

On defence and technology, Naidu said India had moved from being an importer of defence equipment to a manufacturer. He described Modi as the only leader with a deep understanding of space technology, drone technology, semiconductors and quantum technology. He also mentioned the growth of startups creating jobs for youth and women empowerment schemes ranging from Beti Bachao to Lakhpati Didi.

Naidu specially recalled the resolution of the decades-old Ayodhya dispute and the construction of the Ram Temple under Modi’s leadership. He asked the audience, “What I said is true, isn’t it?” and led them in loud chants of “Jai Shri Ram,” which echoed across the Rudraksh Convention Centre.

Making a special appeal, Naidu said: “I come from the sacred land of Tirumala where Lord Balaji resides. We wish to build a Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in this historic city of Kashi. I request Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to allot 5 to 10 acres of land for this purpose.” The announcement received a strong response from the audience.

Reaffirming the strength of the NDA alliance, Naidu said the Central government had stood firmly with Andhra Pradesh on the construction of Amaravati and the Polavaram project. “Cooperative federalism is not just a slogan for us — it is our daily experience. We are together and will remain together. Our unity is the strength of the nation,” he declared.

Naidu concluded by saying that having the right leader at the right time and in the right place is a great fortune for the country, and that leader is Narendra Modi. The audience gave him a standing ovation.
