New Delhi, Aug 1 : The young girl, who was reportedly booked for using alleged objectionable language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital, said on Saturday that she was grateful to the Prime Minister for his forgiveness which came as a "second life" for her.
In a video message put up on his official Instagram account on Friday, PM Modi said that he wanted to forgive all those children who had abused not only him but also his late mother.
Speaking to IANS, the 15-year-old girl, who is a Class 10 student, said that she was asked by several YouTubers, who were present during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led agitation at Jantar Mantar, to speak on the paper leak issue, calling it her "freedom of expression".
"I was provoked by people there...people were saying many things. I felt that some of those things made sense. Then I spoke according to whatever I was told. I was also told that I had the freedom to speak and that the video clip would not be posted," she added.
The girl said: "I said all those things because of which I have apologised since whatever I said was very wrong and I am still guilty about it."
She added that she was grateful to the Prime Minister for his forgiveness despite her using "such bad words" against him.
"I am very happy that PM Modi has forgiven me. It is a very big thing for me. In a way, I have got a second life. I made such a big mistake, and I never thought I would be forgiven. I felt that everything was over...I started crying because the same person against whom I used such bad words has forgiven me."
However, the minor claimed that an FIR was lodged against her using fake age, fake name and even fake address.
"Neither I am Ruchika Singh, nor I am 25-year-old. I am 15-year-old," she said while appealing for action against those who framed fake allegations against her.
The girl said: "Following the registration of the FIR, police are visiting my area and even meeting my relatives. People are searching for me, I am receiving rape and acid attack threats. I am unable to tolerate all these."
The class 10 student also added: "I am receiving threats from unknown numbers. Someone leaked my mobile number. I am being clearly told that wherever they see me, they will rape me and throw me into a drain."
The minor added that despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi forgiving her through a video message on Friday, the case has not been withdrawn.
"Police came to my house even today, they are searching for me everywhere as if I have committed a crime. I only want to say that I am very happy that he (PM Modi) has forgiven me. But, I will not be able to tolerate all this anymore," she said.
Meanwhile, the girl's mother said that while her daughter did commit a mistake, but threatening the minor and making disgusting remarks against her was also wrong.
"Look at social media and see the kind of filthy comments being made. Are those people right who are telling a 15-year-old girl that four people would rape her? Their IDs are there... My daughter made one mistake, but you are making such disgusting remarks. Is all this right? I would have been proud if my daughter had grown up, became a soldier, and died for the country. But today, I am not happy that such people are threatening to rape and kill a child," she told IANS.
Moreover, the girl's mother appealed to be provided a shelter for the safety of her daughter and herself, saying: "If something happens to us, some anti-social elements will blame the Prime Minister for it which should not happen."
