Four Dead as Boat Capsizes in Krishna River; CM Chandrababu Announces Ex Gratia

Four people lost their lives after a boat capsized in the Krishna River near Konuru in Palnadu district on Sunday. The remaining six passengers onboard were rescued safely and are out of danger, according to official sources.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is currently on a visit to Singapore, expressed profound shock over the tragic incident. Upon receiving the news, he immediately held a telephonic review with the District Collector and other senior officials.

The Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia of ₹5 lakh each to the families of the deceased as immediate relief. He directed a high-level inquiry into the incident involving teams from Revenue, Police, and Irrigation departments to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.

CM Naidu instructed officials to take stringent measures to prevent recurrence of such tragedies in the future. He assigned the responsibility of overseeing rescue operations and follow-up actions to Disaster Management Director Prakhar Jain, Information Department Director Vishwanath, and the District Collector.

The Chief Minister assured full support from the state government to the bereaved families and emphasized that all necessary assistance would be extended to them
